Italian startup iSpace2o has announced that it has started production of the body of the DeepSeaker DS1 electric submersible hydrofoil vehicle. DeepSeaker DS1 will be able to move at 23 knots (43 km/h) on water and can dive to a depth of 50 meters.
A safe experience will be offered
iSpace2o did not share much details about the DeepSeaker DS1, but stated that it will be the first of its kind with the ability to both go on water and dive. For the four-seat vehicle, the company says it will provide “almost unlimited oxygen” in the cabin, with a system that can generate oxygen from seawater as a result of its collaboration with Like a Fish Technologies.
The company stated that it will manage the battery consumption by determining the destination of the vehicle with the (Tesla style) artificial intelligence system, calculating both the departure and the return, steel cage and carbon cockpit. He says that with the vehicle, the passengers will be protected in case of a collision, and in case of possible damage, the vehicle will be equipped with an air-inflating environmental airbag for rapid ascent to the surface.
