Chromebook ecosystem, which has been using Intel and ARM-based CPUs for many years, has started to benefit from AMD in recent years. Stealing market share from Intel in every field, AMD introduced its new Chromebook chips.
It goes up to 8 cores
AMD’s newly introduced processors have Ryzen 7 5825C with 8 cores and 16 threads at the top. The chip with 8 GPU cores can go up to 4.5 GHz. AMD states that this chip is the first 8 performance core Chromebook processor. On a lower level, there is the Ryzen 5 5625C. This processor has 6 cores and 12 threads. In addition, the chip has 7 GPU cores and can go up to 4.3 GHz.

The other two chips from AMD belong to the Ryzen 3 series. Ryzen 3 5424C has 4 cores and 8 threads, also the chip comes with 6 GPU cores and can go up to 4.1GHz. Finally, Ryzen 3 5125 has dual cores and 4 monitors, and the chip has 3 GPU cores, but can go up to a maximum of 3.0GHz.
Will offer serious battery improvements
AMD states that Ryzen 5000 C series processors will offer up to 94% more battery life than Intel processors. The company stated that devices with this processor can work on the battery for 13 hours. The chips support 3 4K display connections and fast charging protocol. Acer and HP introduced the first devices to use these chips. The Acer Spin 514 will cost around $600 and can be upgraded to the Ryzen 7 5825C processor. The HP Elite c645 G2, on the other hand, comes with up to 16GB Ram option and 512GB PCIe SSD storage and will receive updates until June 2030.
